What we've been up to...

The nursery has sure kept us busy these past few weeks. First we painted the whole room, including the ceiling an off-white. Then it took over 4 hours to decide how to put the stripes on the wall and just to tape for them. The painting was the easy part! The green stripes only took me a couple of hours. Taking the tape off was magical, the lines looked so clean, and no seep-through, yay!! I did a couple of craft projects--I made the mobile from scratch. I used a craft wreath, wrapped it in ribbon and hung lots of cut-out circles from fish wire. I really like the way it turned out. And then the circles on the wall, that took forever, too. I wasn't super-sure about them (probably bc i was sick of looking at them because it took so long to cut and stick each of them together) but JT, Lydia, Matt and Melissa say they like them and reassured me it looked good. Phew! I was thinking about painting that wall pink if the circles didn't turn out, and I really didn't want to have done all of that work for nothing!

All we need is a cute baby girl to fill the space! 3 1/2 more months!

I painted the office a color called sea breeze, it's a little bright, but i wanted something bold, something not beige-- and then added the black decals (Costco, $6.99, gotta love it) which were really easy to apply. We added black framed pictures of JT's 4 kids on the wall and a 4 generation picture with Dean, JT, Matt and Davis from the wedding. Love this room!

My next project is to type up all of my loose recipes and store them in a binder--i have over 100, wish me luck! I have to get everything i can think of done before this sweet little baby comes into this world and changes my life forever!
And then the next project is to glaze the kitchen cabinets, i already have the glaze, all i need to buy is sandpaper. It's one of those projects that costs very little but takes a lot of time. But it will be worth it, i love the look of glazed cabinets. The glaze is nearly black. I will post before and after pics.

St. George

We had a great time last weekend in St. George. It started out great--we left our house early and picked up a dozen Krispie Kreme donuts (yum!) and went to my sister's and surprised the kids with them. They were leaving for Midland that day and since they would be gone on Rowan's birthday we decided to surprise Rowan with his present and donuts and hot chocolate. He got a Buzz Lightyear chair, he loves the thing! He also got some bubbles, chocolate, gum, sidewalk chalk, etc. Here he is--

Then, off to St. George. We met up with friends and went to the Kansas concert. I know, i know--Kansas, Dust in the Wind, baby! The concert was at Tuacahn, it was beautiful, it was our first time there. JT golfed 18 holes at Sunbrook while I went on a good 10 mile run. It was such a great escape for the cold snow we had here in Salt Lake! We ate at the Pizza Factory, had Nielsen's frozen custard, and ate about a million Smarties!
We went just north of St. George up to the red rock and overlooked the city of St. George. There was a really narrow path between the rock, we couldn't even fit between it!
I just love the St. George temple! Russ and JT

Cravings...

I thought i would let you all in all of the crazy cravings this pregnant chica has had (if i can remember them all):

Winger's - sticky fingers - HOT ( we went...a LOT during the 1st trimester)
Peanut butter and honey sandwich
yogurt, any kind, never made me sick
Pasta salad and ice cream sandwiches, not in the same bite, but together, gross, huh?
McDonald's breakfast croissants (even threw up in the car in the drive thru, but it didn't stop me from enjoying every bite!)
Pace's popsicles
Pink and yellow starbursts (only reds and oranges are left in the bag)
Subway - eat fresh!
JT's yummy hamburgers
tacos!
Samoa's - i love those things! latest craving!
ramen noodles (with peas - you know, to make it healthy...)
oranges and orange juice
celery with peanut butter
raisins
Cafe Rio-veggie burrito-pinto beans-mild sauce-enchilada style-lettuce on the side
tortillas and queso (I even had it at Rosa's in January)

Food that the baby doesn't really care for:

Bananas on an empty stomach. Sometimes even half a glass of water is enough to make me throw up. And lots of other stuff that i don't want you to picture me throwing up.

Best/Cinchiest food item to throw up:
blueberry muffins and milk

Worst/Yuckiest food to throw up:
Salad with vinagreitte dressing and pulled pork sandwich

Oh the joys of being pregnant! I always tell myself as i am throwing up that the baby is getting cuter, it always makes me smile and sometimes laugh out loud when i throw up, weird, huh? I love it. The baby just got a dimple yesterday when i threw up. (It was a random throw-up thing, i really feel great!)

Just be glad i didn't post any pictures on this post... :)

Off to a good start...

Today is a great day already and it's not even 1 pm! Our baby girl has been kicking me more and more, I went on a great 8 mile run and to make things even better, I ran into some girl scouts selling cookies at Wal-Mart. Mmmm, Samoas.... I resisted the urge to eat the whole box of them, and only ate 4, not bad, huh? JT is at a golf tournament, probably smokin' everyone! He's my little golfer boy. Here's a pic of him golfing in Hawaii.

It's a girl!

The wait is over, it's a baby girl, we are so excited!!! I told Jim before we went in for our appointment that if it wasn't a girl I would be in shock! It was good to know that I wasn't just feeling that way for no reason when the sono tech lady said, "I guarantee it's a girl!!".

And she is adorable, I can already tell. Although Jim rolls his eyes when I say that. She puckered her lips while we watched her and she even stuck her tongue out at her dad a couple of times. She is perfectly healthy and is measuring about one day ahead of her due date, which is July 25th. We are ecstatic!

After our appointment we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch (yum-i-licious!) and then headed to Park City to the outlets. We found a lot of really cute baby girl clothes for killer deals and even ran into my friend Kelly who just adopted the most gorgeous little baby girl, her name is Isabelle. She is going to be one of Lindsay's friends. Oh yeah, our baby girl will be named Lindsay Jane, pretty darn cute, huh?
P.S. My belly is getting BIG!! :)

Where, oh where is little Davis?

Davis is constantly cracking us up. When we were moving into our house we (Dean, Donna, Matt, Melissa, JT and I) were all talking in one room and began to wonder where little Davis had gone. Guess where Donna found him--- Yep! He got in there all by himself!

Getting Ready for the Baby

If only we knew what color to paint the walls... I can't wait to see how cute our little baby will be inside this crib! 6 more days until our next ultrasound. I totally think it's a girl, but what do I know? Of course, my entire family (except for my neutral JT) thinks girl, so we will all either be wrong or right together. I just need to know one way or another, the suspense is killin' me!!
