Okay, just so I don't forget later, I thought I would share some of the highlights of my pregnancy. Well, here goes!
The negatives: morning sickness that lasts all day (at least only the 1st trimester), throwing up at work on the graveyard shift, my older brother Jared making me laugh so hard I barely made it to the bathroom in time (maybe this one should be a positive, since I made it?!), and my poor swollen ankles and feet! My back is even thicker and my face and neck fuller!
The positives: I am pregnant with child!!! Also, no complications! Some other good things include a very healthy appetite (wait, maybe this one's a negative?), still being able to run for the first 7 months of the pregnancy (if only I could still fit in my shoes!), having lots of energy, etc. And so far I have no stretch marks and my belly button is still an innie----but barely! Also, feeling little LJ kick, stretch and hiccup is so amazing! I told JT it's a good thing that women get to be the ones that are pregnant because I would be insanely jealous if he got to carry our baby for 9 months. Good thing I'm a girl!
Here are a collection of some of the dumb things people have told me while being pregnant:
Yesterday, a pregnant friend told me how it was bugging her that people were telling her she was getting big. Then she looked at my belly and said "Are you sure there's only 1 baby in there and not 2?" Un-freakin-believable! I told this to JT and he said "I hope she gets BIG!"
"When's that baby gonna pop out?" really? Like I know. And I really doubt it just 'pops' out.
"Oh yeah, you look the same size as my sister does right now that is pregnant." This was when I was 20-22 weeks along. I asked when her sister was due and my friend says "In 2 weeks, she is huge!" Gee, thanks Talitha. :)
"I didn't know you were in the lunchroom because Janet was blocking you." Said to my face! I told the guy at work who said that "I dare you to say that one more time" with a really rude facial expression. I am sure I really looked graceful in that moment! Ah well, he deserved to be scared.
"Hey Janet, have you seen my basketball?"
"How come Danielle is carrying a croquet ball and you are carrying a basketball?" Thanks, honey. Good thing I love you. ;)
"Wow, you're really rounding out!" Duh, that's what happens, people!
And the worst, is the constant staring! For some reason, strangers and friends just seem to stare at my belly---I just think to myself, "yes, it's big, that's because I am pregnant, now get over it!"
And the worst is when people you don't know very well start to touch your belly and get in your face. Ugh. There's one sweet lady at work that does janitorial cleaning. She bugs! Every time I see her I try to avoid her, because if I don't she will talk to me for what seems like 30 minutes and rub my belly and ask me what the baby is hungry for, etc. etc. etc.! And she is sooo loud.
It's funny when I am walking into the grocery store and I will see a woman that will give me this look, and I know exactly what she is thinking--"oh that poor girl, so totally huge and pregnant, I so pity her. Her life must be so miserable". And I think to myself, "Wow, that lady must have had a terrible pregnancy to be giving me such a look of sympathy, I think I have it pretty good."
Many people have given me nice compliments, and I appreciate those! Davis will even kiss my belly and say hi to "baby Windsay".
Some of the most memorable things I have done during this pregnancy include running the Salt Lake 1/2 marathon while 6 mos. pregnant, or should I say jogging--- and also, going to Hawaii with JT and hiking around and still feeling good enough to do things.
I am so excited to have this baby girl and hold her in my arms and hear her cry to the first time and see what she looks like. I can't wait to see what kind of personality she will have and knor what her favorite color will be someday. Yet, I am really sad to think that I won't be pregnant with her anymore. Weird, huh? I just love having her with me all the time, safe and sound. But I am soooo looking forward to having her on the outside! Whenever LJ stretches out a lot I tell her that there's way more space for her to sprawl out on the outside than in my belly. And that there are a lot of really cute outfits and accessories with her name on them, just waiting for her. :)
I love this! I wish I would have written stuff like this down, you totally forget about all the crazy/weird things people say to you. You rock lady! Only a few more days!
ReplyDeleteOhhh....I am so excited to meet this girl! Baby Windsey needs to hurry up and have a birthday already! GEESH.
